Ugh.
Porsche opens tracks.
Ferrari opens theme parks.

I hate when companies wander off what they do best!
Leave the theme parks to Disney, Six Flags and the guys that do it all day long, IMHO.

Ferrari world in Abu Dhabi ain't exactly doing badly...
But then again, how far wrong can you go when people que up to pay $200 for a polo shirt costing $2, just because you stamped your logo on it.

That's in Abu Dhabi. Not sure if you can woo that kind of $$$ here in the US, but who knows?

I can't wait for the Carroll Shelby theme park, where folks can que up to pay $160,000-$180,000 for alloy CSX roller that retails to the public elsewhere for $100,000 (less paint of course).
Take it easy. Just having some fun here. Dimis started it by making fun of Ferrari owners. :D

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Ferrari strategic planners are already anticipating the end of the human driven car. The world of auto racing and supercars will likely change dramatically when most people no longer drive. ... For me, the idea of riding in a self driving supercar that is capable of accelerating, braking and cornering harder than I could if I were driving seems more like an unpleasant amusement park ride than something I would pay big bucks to do.

Need's to have a "car ride" feature (on guided tracks of course), then a conceirege lounge where you sign up for your favorite! Then, all you do is enjoy the hotel and the rest of the vacation and go home and wait for it to show up. OK, now I'm having some fun here..:LOL::LOL:

They are already working on it. Formula E cars, no driver. All on remote control by a "spotter".
Think about it...no worry about G-Forces, injuries etc...

But before you leave the CS theme park, at the exits, the costumed employees will hand you a really nice "badge." That's part of your CS experience, along with the signed gloveboxes, for purchase separately, in the gift shop. ;)

What would be next? Carroll impersonators like the Elvis ones in Vegas?

They'd have chicken feathers flying out of their coverall pockets, and they'd say things that would scare little children. You know, like tapping them on the shoulder and screaming "Ferrari's ass is mine!", or "Ferrari is getting $200 for a shirt? Hell, I'd be able to get two and a quarter easy!" Some of the rides/attractions would include Litigation Lane, where you are shaken upside down until all the loose change in your pockets is completely emptied.

Re: Formula E. I might be willing to watch it if a human passenger were strapped into each car during the race. Otherwise, meh.
There's a reason why tens of thousands of people used to line up along the beach to watch the Space Shuttle blast off. They don't show up like that to watch an unmanned resupply rocket launch.

And once again, the Shelby experience is more thrilling than the Ferrari one. :3DSMILE:

... and the winner's trophy would be a big pair of brass balls stylish mounted in a mahogany base?
