1/4 times

I didn't want to hijack the thread with a similar theme recently posted so I thought I'd start a separate one.

What are 1/4 miles for "regular" Cobras? By regular I mean ones that aren't set up for drag racing, i.e. Street tires, no nitrous, street gears, etc.

I'm obviously not a drag racer but curious what Cobras run.

Interested to know engine size, torque, hp, brand build, weight, rear gear and transmission type if you have the patience for it. As a side curiousity, interested to know how much faster bb's might be compared to sb's. Finally, if you also have lap times at known courses like VIR would be interested.

Thanks.

Very generally speaking, most "Cobras", whether small or big block, run in the 12's. Traction is the biggest issue. Having said that, here is a good video on FFR cars with drag and road course testing.

I have SPF01061. It is well set up for road racing/street use. 2700 lbs with full fuel tank. Avons. Olthoff Bilsteins, sway bars. 3:27 Torsen rear. TKO600R modified by Liberty Gears. Roush 427R w/ AED 750 carb. I can drive it to the local drag strip without so much as changing the plugs or letting air out of the tires and it will run 11:30s/124mph. Don't have lap times at VIR and haven't run there in several years, but it was always near the top of the pack with other "Cobras". Mainly, at 15 years and 76,000 miles it's still as much fun to drive as day one.
