Fitech Fuel Injection
I'm pondering swapping to fuel injection from a carb and have been reading the reviews and stats on the relatively new Fitech system. Looks great, is virtually self contained and if you use their fuel command center you can use your stock mechanical fuel pump. Priced at $995 plus $395 for the command center. Seems to include everything you might need for a one day install. You tube videos show startup and self learning is almost immediate.
Any thoughts or experiences with this system? Here's their link.

Just search "fitech" on CC and you get hits. Here's a thread you may want to check out: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/fuel...i-systems.html

Brent, I'm trying to figure out where to put the command center in the engine compartment. It's pretty big. I don't want to have to install an in-tank electric pump with return lines if I don't have to.
Mine runs great as is, just getting a wild hair to try something new and this looks interesting. If it didn't work, I could always go back to the quickfuel carb.

Great topic as I have been meaning to bring this up after I read their article. Jay with Vintage Motorsports could probably shed light on this as I have noticed this FI system on one of his latest buildings. Jay may be one of the only guys that has used one and could speak to the results and quality.......I think the Vintage guys have used about every fuel injection system out there.

Yes, we've installed about 5 or 6 of these systems so far. The biggest issue is getting them as they are constantly out of stock. We do make adjustments on the dyno to get them closer to dialed in before the street. I'd put them on top of the food chain for now.
We should have our Holley Sniper setup in a few weeks to draw comparisons.
Our installs have all been with in-tank fuel pumps if that means anything to you.

If you do this I'd go for the in-tank pump. They are quieter and more reliable than external pumps. Virtually every OEM car is set up this way. Aeromotive has a nice retrofit in-tank pump for FI that I'm sure would work with this system.

I've been running Fitech for a few months and have 800+ miles on it so far. The FCC was the only part of the install that was any trouble. A little bracket fabrication and I put it on the crossmember right behind the radiator. While you don't need a return line to the tank, you still need a vent from the FCC to the tank. I was already running a return line so I just used it for the vent line. The FCC does not seem to be as sorted out as the TB. The low psi gauge quit working within 250 miles (I'm not the only one to have this problem) and later started leaking. I put another gauge in and no more trouble. As far as the actual Fuel injection, I like it. I am not a tuner but I'm sneaking up on it. My cam is probably the worst you could have for fuel injection.( Big, big cam with 107 lsa. Most FI cams are 114-122 lsa) The car runs great and gets a little better mileage on the highway. My setup doesn't allow for timing control but from what I've read, if yours is pretty well sorted out, the Fitech won't be an improvement.

Your correct on the timing G_E. I'm going back letting the dizzy do the timing. I was having hunting issues at idle with the timing jumping around along with AFR and idle speeds. Too many balls in the air or it couldn't find a I'm in charge command.
I love the system though.

The self learning efi is a miss in my book. Carb or multi port only.

Anybody look at putting the FCC in a wheel well? I'm thinking passenger side, ahead of the front wheel.

Why? Multi-port is better, but self-learning throttle body can be pretty good.

I have just read on here as other forums that they never run correct with a big cam. The shop by my house won't even do them anymore. They are efi experts. The multiport with a stand alone computer they control all the aspects. It's a cool idea though.
