Going back a number of years, there were plenty of dynamic and interesting active build threads. These kept me coming back every day.
The ‘epic’ builds seem to be few and far between these days. What’s happened? You builders out there…..let us in on what you’re doing….(and it doesn't need to be epic ;) )

I agree - unfortunately now days most cars being built seem to be rollers with only drive train installs needed but maybe I'm wrong.

Also, the really interesting builds would be those following a path less trodden, but they might be scared off posting on here because the impression gained when I read comments is that unless your effort is as close to original as is possible in a kit car it is frowned upon.

I will be starting one over the next few days. Stay tuned...

I agree! I am looking forward to your build thread.

I abandoned mine years back, but I have been working on LOTS since. I created a full production mold for my 427 body. I've been working on OE level bracketry kits for 427's which I recently completed and will now be putting together a jig for. I have just about finished up some OE?? level bracketry kits for 289 Leaf cars, and created a full jig for the 289 which I will be starting on the first chassis soon. Will get the pictures flowing on all when I do!!

Been busy building a garage for car #2.
car #2 has begun but slow on activity front. Guessing September should see action.

Very nice Jeff! I'm not far behind you for a new garage as well. What size is yours? I'm STILL waiting for permits!:CRY: I was trying for around 30'x40', but the largest they are allowing me is 30'x30'.

What are the footings in the center for? A lift or support posts?

Come to think of it, I haven't seen BLykins posting his build threads lately either and he's usually pretty good at that. Was looking forward to watching that "NOS" sideoiler he was starting.;):cool:

I agree with this statement. Let's face it, most of us are busy with work and family and don't have the time, and in my case, the skills to build a Cobra.

I'd have to disagree with this statement, at least for me. There's always going to be a dingleberry in the crowd who's insulting to the OP, but I think most of us here admire the skills and determination of every build here.

Just recently, there was a Backdraft that Jay from Vintage built to order for an owner a few years ago, and it was for sale again. The BDR was certainly "edgy," both in design and color, but no one said it was POS. I think the general feeling was, great skill-work, but just not their taste.

And off the top of my head, DanEC built a very authentic and beautiful ERA street 427, which I and everyone admire greatly too.

Also, I've said on several occasions, once you make the decision to not install an FE in your 427 Cobra replica or decide to install a 351W in your SB Cobra, heck, I think a Viper V10, and LS-series GM or whatever in a Cobra replica would pretty cool. Even one of our local Bay Area members has a battery run Cobra replica and that's cool too.

Actually, one of the most interesting 'build' threads was Allen's (fullchat289) log of the developments and improvements he made to his car, ERA2124.
Remember the Le Mans hardtop and the shortened bootlid?

Any build thread that tells a story and that we can learn from (and keeps us checking-in every day) is a good one ;)

Started as 28 x 42 but budget etc...
Will be post and beam construction with an upstairs.

Center footings are for posts as its a vintage post and beam barn.
Told tonight a gift from my wonderful mother in law is a cobra shaped weathervane will adorn the coupula .....

I tried for 2-story but was shot down due to height and potential dwelling requirements. So I am going "clear span" with a high ceiling and no posts.
