Stainless Pipes
I have read and searched, but know someone has to have a secret to bring the shine out on the stainless pipes. I have used Compound 302, sold by Gas-n-pipes, to remove the yellow, but can't seem to find anything to make them pop again. I have tried White Diamond and the old faithful Mothers, applied both with the Mothers polishing ball and terry cloth, but have not been able to get the shine I was looking for. Someone share me their secret!

I tape the body and sidpepipe openings with a good quality masking tape.
Use the Locktite Alum brightener (15% phosphoric acid) 1st. Leave on for 10 min and rinse. The pipes will be very bright and zero yellow. Aluminum Jelly, Aluminum Polish, Aluminum Brightener, Aluminum Cleaner Directions from Loctite Adhesives Then use a Rouge type emery stick with various mandrels. The pastes have a ton of sling and are great for shooting rooster tails across the garage and and you vs actually staying on the wheel. A good starter kit is sold thru Eastwood. We just did the turbine exhaust pipe on the A-Star came out perfect was yellow now looks chrome again. Go to Harbor Freight buy this kit for 7 Bux.

I used to work on those, easy to work on and simplistic, manuals (at that time) sucked though. Anybody calling them H125 yet? I know Airbus stuck that label on this year. |
