Classics Roadsters Steering Column Identity

I have a Classics Roaster Cobra that i picked up and the TILT Column is all LOOSE and wiggly. There is no key in the column. On the left side there is the Tilt lever and also the Turn Signal lever. On the right side is just the button for the 4 way flasher. I'm trying to identify the steering column so I can fix the TILT mechanism. PLease help me identify this column. Thank you.

try FLAMING RIVER

Have no idea what donor vehicle provided the column.

Here is a vendor that supplies all sorts of steering columns.

Tilt Steering Columns - Tilt Key Column - Floor Shift - Tilt Key Column - Column Shift - Floor Shift Tilt Columns

Maybe there is a tech line with someone who knows replacement columns. That is their business, must be someone there familiar with all the domestic manufacturers tilt and non-tilt apps.

There are other others companies, like IDIDIT? etc that may help you identify yours.

IIRC, mine came out of a Chevette. Difficult to find 15 years ago.

Is the whole column loose and wiggly or just the tilt part? The early Classic Roadsters never had what I thought was a great way of securing the column and I changed that on the one that I used to have. and that column came from a Chevette too.

Its likely the standard GM tilt column from a late 70's to late 80's Chevette. Both of my CR's have them.

More than likely, the screws that hold the tilt mechanism came loose. It can be fixed on the car, but it takes a little time and patience. You have to remove the steering wheel and the turn signal assembly. There are 4 (if I recall) bolts with a 5/16" head on them. The bottom 2 are easy to tighten. The top 2 are a bit harder.

We used to fix them all the time many years ago.
