Default Spring cleaning Part 5: The Sidewinder intake and carb

Spring Cleaning Part 5: Sidewinder Intake Manifold

1) COBRA Sidewinder intake manifold for 427 and 428 FE’s

This is a single 4 barrel aluminum Sidewinder manifold, fairly rare in itself, but ultra rare in that it has the word COBRA cast into the top. (No Shelby or Ford Part Number).

More common are Shelby versions or Ford C6AE-9424-J, K or M.

Port size is 1.94” x 1.24”.

The condition of the manifold is perfect.

Selling price : $2000.00 plus shipping

2) THE period correct carb for the Sidewinder manifold

Ford (Holley) carb C6AF-9510-BF, List-2953-1, Date Code 085

With Lemans Float Bowls # 4339S and crossover tube

And Metering blocks 4611 and 5129.

This is a 1966 Ford 427 carb rated at 850cfm. (when I purchased it from a reliable source, I was told it was a NASCAR carb)

The carb is complete but will require rebuilding.

Selling price: $1000.00 plus shipping.

PM me if you are interested or have any questions.

Cheers
Greg

my427cobra,

Very nice, a thing of pure beauty in all regards. Used to have a '68 Mustang that I dropped an FE into. Later upgraded the top end including an aluminum sidewinder intake and 427 medium riser heads. This was in 1980, I think I paid $295 for it then. While I'm sure there are specs/curves on it, what I noticed in the right foot was an immediate, significant improvement in the top end free breathing. Like night and day. If I had an FE currently, I'd be a taker! Very nostalgic for FE's and my own past experience. That's one part I wish I'd never let get away, still miss it! Best of luck. Brent
