Master Cylinder Leaking
I seem to have a very slight leak on one master cylinder. Not leaking from any fitting, but "weeping"? I checked the fittings and they're not wet, but the MC develops a drip on the bottom every 4 or so days?

Is it possible that there might be a small crack in the MC?

How many miles? What kind of MC, aluminum? Is the rod from the brake pedal into the MC well aligned with the centerline of the MC?

After cleaning the area with Alcohol and let air dry a few min, spray the area with an Aerosol Powder Antiperspirant. It will leave a white residue that small leaks will wick into and show the leak path.

One of my ERA master cylinders leaked right off the bat. It was a scuffed up bore when I opened it up. Apparently if the stroke of the rod is not well aligned with the piston bore it doesn't take long for it to damage the bore.

Did some more investigation on my master cylinder leak. It's porosity. I don't want to remove the pedals, floor, brake lines, and bottom panel to R&R the bad unit. Any suggestions?

I wondered about porosity...but not with aluminum, my prior experience was with a cast iron master cylinder.
How about some sort of high-build primer, followed by a few coats of paint? If you can use a two-part epoxy primer/paint combo it will "cure" from the catalytic reaction and should hold up against the brake fluid, which might soften and disolve a regular paint.
Maybe a few heavy coats of powder coating?
Tough issue, Bill. I ended up replacing mine in the end...but, it needed to be replaced anyway to get better braking. You may find it easier to work on off the car...this has been a tough build!
