Installing a 352FE to get through inspection?

I am finally getting a plan together to finish my car. I have a fairly health Shelby engine but I am thinking about installing a stock FE to go through inspection. I can get a 352 complete that runs for $200. I figure the fuel system, cooling, exhaust can all to set up to the 352 and will work directly with the Shelby is installed. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

In CT, your biggest challenge will be getting the exhaust quiet enough (and you'll need heat shields over the side pipes). Emissions for a Composite Vehicle are pretty liberal. The only advantage of the 352 is a lower compression ratio (depends on the engine model) making it a little quieter.
Also note there's a minimum ground clearance, so you might have to crank up the spring adjustments.
