Best looking lemans top I've seen: who's is this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdE1lqaClbE
I really like the way the side window doesnt end at the door. Makes the whole thing look much less bulky/top heavy. Is this a full custom job, or can you buy this? Looks like England where the video is taken. |
That is very impressively done.
Here's another Cobra with what looks like the same conversion... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyeFVgGtD5A Cheers Glen |
i think its DRB's
|
That is nice - thanks for the post.
|
Great looking car, but that starter tells me he's got too much initial spark advance dialed into it (or he's running a diesel-engine sized compression ratio )
|
That is a nice looking top, much cleaner than the typical Lemans style of past. It is reminiscent in style of the two Austin Healey 3000 coupes, one of which was Donald Healey's personal car. Definitely a high compression or advanced timing issue going on there, but sounds great once fired.
|
i looked further and saw it on the landing page of Dax Cobras. https://427motorco.co.uk/
but, it doesnt show on the lemans hard top page |

That top is gorgeous. The owner better be parking on a hill, if he's going to continue running that much timing or compression.

That is an absolutely stunning top - really enhances the lines of the already beautiful Dax Cobra. The Dax body was originally shaped for Dax by John Tojeiro, the man himself who designed the original AC Ace from which the Cobra was derived.
Here's the website for the hardtops: HOME https://storage.googleapis.com/wzuku...H/DSC_0260.jpg Edit - I can't get enough of how good that combination looks. Way more complimentary than any other hardtop option I've ever seen on a Cobra. https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0...e8&oe=5A5E01BA |
Have to ask a dumb question - how do you get to the door latch to open the door?
Ok - it was dumb - had another look - you open side window first! |
Pop the window open and reach in.
|
Note that the top extends down along the sides of the windshield. I suspect that the assembly actually replaces much of the original windshield frame.
|
Actually according to the website and Dax, it fits over the existing frame and secures with 5 bolts.
