Bogus Introduction forum Postings

What is the deal with all of the junk postings in the introduction forum? What are they gaining by this crap?

Gaz64 09-14-2017 02:09 PM

I really don't know, but I wish the moderators would do something about it.
New posts is starting to look like a bad book.
Look up members, and see how many new members have 0 posts.

Uhhhh, maybe like check the box that prevents new users from posting until they are approved by the Administrators? Or maybe by incorporating a Captcha security plugin to weed out the 'bots? Yep. The time has come.

I'm to scared to click on one for fear of getting a virus.:(

Gaz64 09-14-2017 05:27 PM

Seems really odd, there is none in my new posts list now?
Coincidence?

It's because some members thought enough to send a Report Post message (the little red bordered triangle in the upper right of each post) to me (like I've asked folks to do repeatedly in the sticky at the top of this forum) so that I have a ready link to the offending post so I can swoop in even from my freeking phone, delete the post and ban the sumb!tch...and then look for others on the same forum (they do congregate in the Intro forum) and nose around elsewhere. They tend to sworm the site on an irregular basis, so it's not like I can sit here and wait 24/7 for them.

Other members, somewhat oblivious to long-running instructions at the top of this forum, would much rather start a thread and b!tch without helping out.

I removed all of the offending posts in the Intro forum within 4 minutes of received the Report Post email. That's why.

I have reported it Jamo but like one said after opening one I was half scared to open others for fear of a virus etc.

Jamo 09-14-2017 05:57 PM

I received no Report Post from you today.via the forwarding email or on our own Moderator's forum.

I received it from two other members. Starting a thread or posting a comment as if we're sitting on our asses isn't going to cut it.
