SBF Alt WP V belt replaced with March wide ribbed serpentine type

Pretty straightforward with the exception of having to drastically shorten the alternator fan spacer bushing. The bushing goes between a shoulder on the shaft just inside the casing and the alternator side of the fan.

Since the new pulley and fan combo (also bought the March fan) are thicker, and the tin fan was convex the bushing was way too long.

Simply cut the old one down to just protrude from the casing by about 3/32.

Used: March pully kit 1670

March fan 221-08 (black powder coated)

Dayco Poly Rib Belt 5060370 (37")

The belt is a continental which has transverse cuts for flexibility and cool running...part no 4060370

It looks good and seems to be pretty easy to change over to that belt.

Supposed to run cooler, have no slippage and require less tension which would seem to indicate less bearing wear on the water pump and alternator.
