Making a run of these quick release steering wheel hubs if anyone interested let me know. Will fit Shelby CSX cars at least the early ones I don’t know if they changed anything on the later ones

Looks nice!

Can this be retrofit? I really wanted one for my CSX4005LA but was told by the SA crew that it could be built that way but that a retrofit of the assembly required re-position some fixed components so was more than I was interested in tacking.

CSX LA cars should be the same can’t remember it’s been retired a while but have to see it if it’s the same very easy conversion would replace the inner shaft and mount steering wheel. If not replaced Outer steering tube to also

It's been a while but what I recall is that the quick-connect attachment extended the inner shaft so to keep the steering wheel in the same position involved the extra work. If yours preserves the length of the shaft that's great!

wheel stays in the same position the only thing you will notice different the button to press to take the wheel off

Tjd do you have a price for your hub? Do you have any pictures of this hub with the steering wheel mounted?

I would be interested as well depending on final price and how complicated and the compatibility the conversion may be for a newer CSX car.

Here’s pictures to compare original CSX 4000 wheel to the quick release hub.
The wheel on the quick release is one that I had left over from several hundred steering wheels I made for Shelby when I was there.
I’ll find out next week what serial numbers of which 4000 7000 this hub and upper shaft will fit. Hub and shaft and hardware to changeover a CSX car. $600.00 if you need the outer steering tube additional
$125.00
Conversion is simple unbolt
u-joint at upper steering shaft pull it out and put new one in mount steering wheel to new hub.
