Parse Error?

For the past 2-3 weeks I have gotten a page full of parse errors and computer gobbledygook every time I tried to log on in IE. I am now using Chrome, but I much prefer Explorer. Any thoughts?

t walgamuth 02-04-2018 10:18 AM

I have found some websites are nigh onto unnavigable on Explorer now.

Ron61 02-04-2018 11:27 AM

I am getting that using Chrome when I try to log into the Forum page so I log in on another page and then come to the Forums.

What Ron61 said. Can't access via Chrome browser on the laptop...

Getting the parse error on Firefox desktop. This is Firefox on my android phone at the same time with no probs

twobjshelbys 02-04-2018 05:45 PM

OK, so if you look at the parse error, the traceback says it failed to add cookies. So I deleted all clubcobra cookies (which included the auto-login user/pass), and started over, logged in again, and now it's OK.

Try restoring the advanced settings.
Tools | Advanced tab | Restore advanced Settings
Then set settings to default.
Tools | Advanced tab | Reset

I have Firefox on 2 computers, phone, and Ipad and all work fine.

It's back. I give up. This forum is the only one I ever have problems with.

Ron61 02-06-2018 04:53 AM

It is not your stuff. The forum is starting to have more problems. I got mine to work a few times and now it is back to where I have to log in on another page which works great. Also I have no problem with getting on the CHR site.

It's back and deleting cookies did no good. Windows broken android ok. Doesn't anyone that owns or manages this forum care about it's operation? Spam posts seem to be policed but no-one seems interested in fixing things

Don't go in via the front door. Put a bookmark on your browser that is pointed to the link for your "subscribed threads." Like this: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/subscription.php Click on that first and it will let you through every time and defeat that pesky "parse error" bug.

I see two posts that show in this Forum but when I tried to open them they just showed nothing. The name is the same and it is one of the people that came on last night. I don't know if my security is blocking those posts or what, but I am sure they are spammers.

Both are by this person or whatever it is. fghuiolijhgrggt

This still happens. Every time I restart my browser I have to delete cookies and log in again. Doesn't anyone ever look at issues?

I gave up when cookie delete did not help on laptop or office PC. Just doing as Ron61 does - logging in on a club forum page in cptr's history, then proceeding to forum pages.

Funny, but everything works great on Android tablet.

Ron...from my July 17, 2017 post in the spam sticky near the top of the All Cobra Talk page...

As I just explained in a thread in the Lounge (one of several threads I've had to respond to on the subject), when no content is shown it means the filter mechanism is working and the thread is held in abeyance while the system decides to delete the thread or pass it through.

Take no action. Thanks

Ron61, Pete Munroe, LMH and 2 others like this.

Absolutely and clearly explains and fully answers the question you posted here...some 8 months later...and you read it (note your "like")

I cannot fix reading or memory errors. That filter has been in place for years, and why there is no content has been explained numerous times.

You're "no-one seems interested in fixing things" is most decidedly not well taken.

I'm sure you'll have some explanation other than a simple "oops" but I really don't care to hear it.

Thanks for your support.

You are by far the most persistent poster of things you find wrong here. Brent spent a great deal of time over the past couple of months fixing the majority of issues folks pointed out. I've passed on your concerns...have you PM'd or emailed him directly? Certainly some issues remain for some members. I personally go after spam daily...sometimes several times a day...including the few you reported (thanks for those). So, despite your commentary...yes.

I'm wondering, in an effort to try to fix your particular problem, whether shutting down your log in credentials for a period of time, and then turning them back on might help...sort of a reboot. Let me know...I'm pondering on how long to make the time off.
