Installed Silent Travel Door Latches Photos Needed

I am in the process of gathering up parts to install latches on my doors.

I need to see how they are installed on Cobra doors.

I found a drawing on how they are installed on MG TC doors, but that doesn't help me much. Neither does my building Cobra kit cars book.

Also, any tips on installing them would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

I've seen them installed both ways. With the handle facing up and with the handle facing down. I prefer the handles facing down.

I also use a piece of .125" plate aluminum behind the latch. It provides support and sets the spacing exactly right for the door closure.

The original cars had the lever on top, with a leather strap going forward, attaching to (probably) the bottom of the middle side-curtain ferrule.

I don't know if this helps, but this is my install photos.

My 1964 had the knob facing down with the strap attached to the middle Farrel.
