Need to get an extra set of keys for my 2004 Backdraft Racing ... any suggestions? Should I try Backdraft in Boynton Beach, FL?

Yes. They can identify the blank number and then you can get it cut at a local lock place.

Edit: When I went looking for another key for my CSX I went to the local hardware store (who was a good friend of mine, I helped him recover from the 2013 floods). We found that the blank that would fit was from (as I recall) a key that was used in file cabinet locks, but that the blank was too long. He cut the key and then ground off the end to make it fit.

No. on key

Thanks Tony, Unfortunately, my ignition key doesn't have a no. stamped on it....really thought the locksmith could do exactly what you had done... Monday I'll call Backdraft and see if they have a couple of blanks. I can purchase a whole new ignition switch for $38.00 with two keys but was trying to get things done without too much bother... thanks for your input, I'm looking at all my filing cabinet keys!

I just made the rounds of lock smiths to have keys made. I have a 2007 build and found that the ignition key blank was a ilco number X254 the hood and trunk are also ilco number 62FS and gas cap was ilco there are two numbers on it 1639 and LD1. They used my original keys and those blanks and made all three. I hope that this helps good luck.

Went back to the same locksmith my wife tried the day before when the guy said he couldn't make keys without a number ... talked to the the owner this time ... took him about 15 minutes to find the right blanks and cut new keys. Charged me $7.50 for all three.

As with everything I have that uses a key, I always have a spare.
When I got my Cobra, there was only one set on the key-ring it came with so took the numbers and visited or called every locksmith in the area, none had one (interesting that one would work in the ignition, trunk and hood locks, the other just the hood and trunk?). After days on end of research on the computer, I found just one (matching the one that fit all three) at a vintage motorcycle shop over in England. I spent $20 to buy and have it shipped here and the local locksmith cut it for free (he liked my Cobra). I was set!
Now, I've been through the documentation packet I received with my car dozens of times. Last week, curious of the cam specs, I went through it again and low and behold, wrapped and taped tightly in a very small plastic bag at the bottom of the packet, was a second set of keys for my car.
Sometimes, ya just gotta wonder...:o
