Avon CR6ZZ what tire pressures are you running

SPF with small block.
I was a little low on pressure and went up to 35psi all around and there was a significant increase in feel and turn. Wondering what is ideal.

Chilibit 09-23-2018 02:58 PM

18-20 unless I am on the track. I ran 26 at VIR. My tire wear is perfect. 35 is off my chart.

Midcont 09-23-2018 04:26 PM

I was at 22. This way it drives much better

CompClassics 09-23-2018 06:29 PM

The reason it feels better is because it is easier for the tire to roll and turn, grip is compromised though.

gsharapa 09-23-2018 07:28 PM

On my GT40 I run 26 in the front and 23 in the rear on my AVONs.

Sledge 09-23-2018 07:49 PM

For even tire wear on my BDR, I run 23 psi front, 16 psi rear. These numbers were obtained using an infrared temperature detector to obtain temp readings across the tread width, corrected for camber settings. As opposed to my usual method, which is pulling them directly outta my a$$.

I run 28 to 30 on all wheels on my Coupe. With my tires 28 seems to be the best as I get no extra wear and the tires don't overheat.

My wife and I took out the CSX for a drive yesterday (she was driving). I had just put 26F/25R in our Avons and she noticed the car was better planted in the switchbacks.

I have 24 in my Hoosier A7s. I have not tried them yet so will check back when I do.

Midcont 09-28-2018 06:59 AM

i'm going to go down to 28 and see how it feels. thanks for the input.

Randy Rosenberg 09-28-2018 06:13 PM

19 rear / 21 front.

Phx Mike 09-28-2018 06:31 PM

24 psi front and rear. Had them at 32 psi once and it was way too firm. I have 245's on the front and 295's on the back and 22-24 seems about right with a good contact patch across the cross section

Moto One 09-29-2018 12:08 PM

I'v been running 30F/28R, still have enough bit to brake an axle, when the car was delivered pressures were at 38F/38R, ride was junk. By the way still have 50% tread after 4k.

Mark.

Avon CR6ZZ's: Currently running 25 lbs. all around, but I ran 18-20 lbs. for the previous few years. I really can't tell the difference.

Treadwear seems great on these, even with a few track days.

At the autocross last sunday I worked down to about 22 all around.

Me too, but on a Mk IV. It's what the Autokraft Handbook recommends.
