Headers and pipes???
Posted this twice before, can't seem to find it on the Forum ... I have a Backdraft Racing with slip-on side pipes ... they rattle like crazy. thoughts: weld flanges on (the headers are ceramic coated don't know if that will screw them up) and the pipes are stainless ... OR, pay the price and buy new headers and side pipes. Next, how easy are the headers to remove??? looks like I'll have to take off the steering column at the least ... Anyone gone thru this procedure, I'd sure appreciate input.

Hey Ron,
I replied to your post from this morning. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/all-...e-headers.html Your post from Sept on this subject is here with info in how to convert to flanged exhaust. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/all-...ers-pipes.html |
Welding flanges on the pipes is no big deal. Any competent welding shop can handle that for you. Then have them recoated. Again, no big deal.
But, those pipes are 14 years old. If you drive the car a lot, you might consider just replacing them. It will cost more money, but save you a lot of time and hassle. You can get the job done in one day, instead of 2-3 weeks. |
