4k or so on SPFR 0012 just in the first two months,600 just in the first two days, makes getting the bugs out faster, now has about 6+k. Now all it need is new axels, and another set of Avons.

That's the way that it should be. Tires should be retired because of lack of tread, not age.:D

Funny, how the rear tires on our cars wear out much faster then the front's :) I had a uncle that brought a new (65-66?) Fury with a Hemi, 3-speed on the floor . His wife couldn't fathom how they went though 3-pairs of rear's to only one pair on the front ;) As a 12yo I was awe-struck by the way this car threw you back in the seat, with just 7.45-14 tires. Cheers.

Although today's cars are faster than those of the golden age, they will never again have the mystique that a proper 60s muscle car did; raw horsepower in a very basic, big car with crummy tires, brakes and suspension, very little concern for safety but just dripping with American pride.
