Lots of talk on this thread about whether or not to paint an aluminum snake or leave it bare. Of course I will be a little biased, but as much as I love painted cobras, I do prefer bare aluminum, for a couple of reasons.

First being that it is a very signature look. Anybody seeing a polished cobra immediately thinks "Kirkham". It is a very unique look in the cobra world.

Second being how much easier it is to repair in comparison with a painted car. A painted snake, as soon as its dented, scratched, or took a little bump to the nose around town or the track, not only requires repairs but will also require a new paint job. With a bare aluminum snake, the damage is repaired, sanded and polished away till it vanished completely, which is quite a remarkable thing to see. And you wouldn't "necessarily" have to polish the entire car. That scratch that you made with your belt buckle while leaning over the car sands and polishes out with nobody the wiser :)

I’ve had a few dents removed in my painted Kirkham with a paintless dent remover.
