We offer these six-pound hammers that can have the head recast after it is really beat up (and it WILL get beat up!) https://www.facebook.com/TimeMachine...type=3&theater

timemachine -- one of the benefits of these cars is that it gives you the ability to buy, and have custom built, all sorts of tools that you wouldn't think of. Like this little gem instead of that mutha thumper hammer:

looks like small block to me. Dracut is about 10 miles away from me.
Ahhhh old age hitting me today. After looking at the photo I remember goin by there every week . Never saw the car though. |
Car belonged to dealers brother in law. Kept in his man cave at his house which is where I saw it. I have second home in NH and going to try and keep plate and register here. I’ll trailer it back and forth depending on season.

I believe there is a Superperformance owners forum that you can join that is
exclusively for owners and can be a wealth of info for you. You can probably google it or maybe someone here can give you the site. Let the fun begin! |
Superformance Car Owners Forum
The owners forum is vast repository of information as well as a social organization. |

Going to register in NH so I can keep the Cobraac plate. I own a place in NH and called town hall and said it was allowed. I’ll save the taxes as well.

Congrats, you'll have great fun.
Join SCOF if you wish, not sure what the dues are now. The summer SuperCruz is the nuts and a great ride. Register with Mike at SecondStrike, good info and makes it easy to find other owners. Also buy his manual, worth the price and loaded with solid info on SPF cars. Spend a few bucks with Blas for his wiring diagram, he really has the electrical system well documented. Spinners and a word to the wise. Break em loose (just starting to move with the wheels still on the ground. Does less damage to the suspension and gives you something to hit against. R/T's Spinner Eze is the best anti-seize that I've found for spinners. And yes you'll need the big LEAD hammer, deadblows are not up to the task. Past that it's old tech and basically pretty simple to work on. Jim A former SPF owner x 2 |

Join superformance.org the technical library is worth the entrance fee all on its own...Most of the parts can be sourced from outside the superformance system, saving a great deal of time, hassle, and money...Its crazy the gamut of sources that these pre assembled kit cars are made from!
Theres lots of stuff you can get at any decent NAPA auto store if you know what you are looking for, never, ever go into any parts house and ask for a "Superfomance" part... |
My last SPF had a bumper sticker "My initials are VW / Genuine VW Service and Parts". All true. Superformance uses many (a boat load) VW parts and my initials are VW. Alas, the bumper sticker didn't set well with some of the other owners, a rather sensitive lot.
But on a more serious note Tortuga is spot on. Alternate parts are readily available but you'll have to have the original manufacture's p/n. Blas w/ wiring diagrams, Stenhouse w/ the owners manual and SCOF for tech will guide you through. Jim |

Ha Ha, yep I’ve installed a VW replacement turn signal and flasher relay...
