Backdraft tires

I was hoping to get some input on tires for my car for summer time use. I am currently running nittos nto5 on the car it has 335 on the back 17" rims . I still am a newbie butt I noticed the car wants to grab everything! BY this I mean you know how semi trucks leave low spots on asphalt my car wants to jump from side to side grabbing traction. Please share your thoughts on tires and sizes for front and rear. keep in mind however I want performance tires.

Tires are not the problem. First thing to check would be air pressure; 24-26psi would be a good starting point.

Also check your alignment specs, front and rear.

If those check out, start looking for something loose, or broken.

tracks straight on smooth road could use higher quality shocks might that be the problem?

What rearend are you running? How is it set up?

Possibly. If they're blown out and leaking, replace them. Otherwise, look at the set up first.

It has the bmw e36 with 1/8 longer bolts locktighted to flange on dif side (No more backing out problems ). yes it is a lsd. Also I would love to hear about tire sizes and brands others are installing on their cars.

First I would like to say I took a look at your car and I love it! I talked to some vintage racers and they said their car act up at low speeds too, is this normal? with sticky tires ? also 335 35 17 on rear and 255 40 17 on front. everything is tight and in proper working order the only thing is it has not been in the alignment shop but at speed the problems go away other than a little steering wheel flutter in corners handles like a dream.

Thanx. :) I'm still learning how to drive this beast. Very different than the previous car.

If it hasn't been to the alignment shop, do that. To get the most out of the engine, you have to spend some time tuning it. To get the most out of the chassis, you have to spend some time tuning that as well.

If you happy with the bottom and middle, increase the fueling under load with the PVCRs, but I would decrease the high speed air bleeds about .004 as a first step.

Not sure what you mean wont that decrease the top end are you saying do this after I jet up the secondarys?

hauss 01-14-2019 04:25 PM

one more thing I switch from a 6.0 to 4.5 I have 0 vaccum big cam at idle

Gaz64 01-16-2019 04:35 PM

Decreasing the high speed air bleeds has the same effect as increasing the main jet size, but affects the top end more.

So if you happy with bottom end, play with the air bleed size for top end.

Decrease bleed size for less air, richer

Increase for more air, leaner.
