Ford Taurus Fan current draw actual proof test
Autokraft Mk IV 302/427 conversion So this week we are wiring on the new dash. Apart from building the FE, it's pretty much the only job I've put out. I'm in the UK and the guy wiring it is the same person Jaguar Cars Ltd use to wire up their new retro E Types (XKE's to you guys) and D Types they have started producing. Anyhow, we just tested the Dorman 620-101 twin speed (engine not running yet) you can get from Summit. I can tell you this is some fan. So quiet, so powerful. Even at low speed, you can feel the wind coming out of the engine bay. I'm really hoping this is enough to push the hot radiated air out. In case anyone is interested these are the figures. New fan, room temp. Low speed 25a start, 7a running High speed 70a start, 22a running Control unit Volvo 850/960 twin speed Radiator sensor 2 temp BMW 5 series 40a relay |
On the vehicles that I've put those fans on, I also run wire from alternator directly to the relay mounted close to the fan---very little current drop from distance and also keeps that much amp draw out of the dash--------
