Should I send it to you.?

Hi all,

I’ve asked this question over on the Kirkham owners site but thought I’d throw it out to the General Forum group.

I have a brushed aluminium Kirkham car with a Shelby 468ci engine and Tremec gearbox. It’s got quite a few of the Kirkham extras along with a spare set of brand new wheels with billboards fitted.

I’m not using it much now as I’ve got into flying and boating a bit..:JEKYLHYDE

I thought it maybe better to ship it back to you guys in the States as it’s left hand drive.

I would assist with shipping and organising.

I’m not sure on USA car site or auction houses etc

I was thinking about $140,000 USA dollars ..

Most Forum members would know of me as I’m often in the States at events and have been on the Cobra scene for a while. So I’m hoping it’s not seen as a scam by any potential purchaser - a big thing these days.

Any way I’m open to suggestions.

I have plenty of photos and I can email them to anyone with ideas:confused:

My email is. kni-time@bigpond.net.au

Let’s know your thoughts or ideas...

Cheers

Bernie

You'll get a 100x more exposure to buyers with an ad in www.cobracountry.com

Keep it!
You have plenty of garage space. :)

Bernie,

Be sure that you want to sell it because once it is gone you will miss it. That is one very nice car and you should get your asking price for it. As for the new hobbies, take care and be careful. I liked flying but was never much for boats and water. Best of luck.

Bernie,

Before spending too much money I would search problems with importing replicas into the US. I have seen situations in which replica that were built and registered in the US and then sent out of the country were not allowed to be re-imported as they did not meet safety and emission standards. Would hate to see you spend money shipping something over to have US customs deny it.

Dimis,

Guess there is plenty of garage space here. But it’s a consideration that I’m not using it that prompted the sale.

I’m flying my Vans RV8 a lot more and enjoying that. I’m also finding the convenience of using that little Porsche Speedster.

If you at the Docklands, I have a 50’ Riviera there now.

Talk soon.

Thank you for the input here.

I initially purchased the Kirkham direct and later added the Shelby from Den Beste at San Francisco fitting it all out here in Australia.

More questions will need to be answered if I go down that export path - send it in pieces, send it whole etc etc.

And I’ve still got to answer to my son whom wants it.
