what angle is your windshield?

Hi,
Some windshields look too upright and some just right.
What angle is your windshield from 90 degrees straight up?
I am thinking 40 to 42 degrees, what do you think? 45 degrees looks like the fitment at base is off.
Thanks.
Perry:)

your car has the factory cowl bar in place so it should have the holes already and a guide to set the windshield at the proper angle as per most classic roadsters cars

This is the FIA, the 427 cars, like mine, are a degree or two more.

Put it where you want it.

Move it and clamp in place, step back and look at it. When you get it were you like the looks then bolt it. May have to drill two to four holes. Not hard to do.

we short guys can rack it back a little. Tall guys need it more up.

Just for reference I set mine at 53° to match the soft top that I never bought.

I would have thought 53° would be too much, but that looks good. Dwight's right, eyeball it to whatever looks right.

I installed mine the way the Classic Roadster manual described. It is definitely more upright than everyone else's that I run with. Kind of annoying but I haven't done anything about it yet.

Perry, I just checked the angle of mine (Factory spec.) is set at 48degrees. Look's just fine to me. Cheers Tom.

Decades ago I saw a diagram with a distance from the top of the windshield frame to the door edge that made getting the best, or darn good angle, easy. Of course, I can't remember what it was, but I'm thinking someone out there will know.

OE (center line) of the windshield posts is 55deg. (off horizon/ 35deg. off vertical) making the center of glass approx 45. You can go more towards 40deg for that FIA look if you like ; ) I am a fan, but consider if you will be fitting a top later on which may not jive to an abnormal windshield angle.

My measurements from the photo show 46 degrees on the glass.

Btw digital angle gauges are cheap and a great tool to have around. Harbor Frieght even sells one.

The ride height settings front and rear on your car will affect the measured windshield angle a bit.

Good thought ! I run a 275-60-15, where most other's here run the 295-50-15 rear's. Would that make my angle a touch different, maybe? Mine was zeroed out, on the cowl, then measured on the windscreen, so maybe not? I'm confused, which doesn't take to much, now-a-day's ;)???

If you zeroed out on the cowl then you are measuring the angle with respect to the car. Ride height will not affect the angle.

Ride height only affects the angle if you measure with respect to horizontal or vertical, such as with a bubble level.

We set our windshields at 45 degrees.
