slave again!
Went out to breakfast today and clutch petal went to the floor.Called for a tow truck, using my hegarty tow service, what a joke, they made me wait for almost two hours, just to tell me I had been canceled .NO call ,I had to call them to find out. Then they kept calling and texting me telling me one was on the way. I finally got tired of their b.s. and told them I would never use them again and do not call me again.I was so upset I put the car in gear and hit the starter and limped it home. The push rod shoved though the fork causing the piston to come out of the slave. My fix was to install a new slave and bend a washer in a hydraulic press to take up the space.Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else could this be because of H.D.clutch?:JEKYLHYDE

I have a McLeod Super Street Pro, 75236 I think, linking a 427 and a TKO. I’m using a 1” slave and master and an OE clutch fork. The clutch pedal effort is very significant, but I quickly got used to it. I have 5/8 travel at the slave, that is 1/8 between the CRB and the fingers and 1/2 to operate the clutch. I have two big extension springs, pulling the fork onto the rod, which has a radiused cone on the end. It is well greased up. I think if your actuating rod doesn’t have the end well radiused off, and properly lined up it might eventually wear the contact area and maybe pierce the fork, but would take some doing, it’s 1/8 thick steel. I’m okay so far.

I have already replaced the arm it had less than 2000 miles also had new slave and master cylinders and throwout new fluid and short flex hose. slave is a dorman cs103489 and master is a wilwood .75 my car is very violent big cam and shakes a lot at idle I was hoping for a better than stock clutch arm but have not been able to locate. Just wondering what others are doing to beef up theirs.

I never use insurance towing on daily drivers, specialty vehicles, and motorcycles. Reason is when you subscribe to insurance towing on your policies, that phone call equates to a claim and could be used against you on renewal. Some of the insurance companies say not but when you go shop your insurance for savings, you will discover a claim that will cause insurance hikes.
How many of you see free windshield repair on rock chips? Free my ass. That is still a claim and can and will go against you. Home insurance does the same. You call your insurance on a possible hail storm roof damage and claims adjuster states no damage. Well, you just made a claim and rates may increase because of that. That is the reason AAA is the clearly the best for families with multiple vehicles. |
I have used the AAA tow service many times and never had my rates go up.The tow policy is a separate feature that I can use twice a year before it becomes null.Full disclosure we are on the family plan.I was told anyone can purchase AAA tow service so use it I wish I did in my case . Now my question did I just get a crappy part from summit and if I did what fork should I order?

What bellhousing do you have?
We like to use this setup in lieu of the "hole/slot" in the arm. The rod end allows easy adjustment and some misalignment without putting sideways pressure on the slave piston. https://www.facebook.com/TimeMachine...type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/TimeMachine...type=3&theater |
That looks somewhat like the the Forte setup. (on my wishlist).

Yes, that is a very nice system and reinforces the clutch arm as well.
