Time for new (bigger) wheels and tires.

It's getting time for wheels and tires. I currently have 1990's vintage 15" wheels with BF Goodrich TA's and want to go to 17 or 18" wheels and a much stickier tire. I live in FL and our roads are straight. More interested in straight line traction.
I'm not sure who's kit my car is. I have been able to identify the build. Thought maybe a Shell Valley but sent them pics and they said no. I'm trying to figure out the widest wheel/tire combo I can squeeze under the car. Where do I take measurements? I have a Ford 9' rear end, Mustang II front end and I am thinking I need to measure from the face of the hub to the edge of the fender flare. The first pic showing the rear of the silver car is mine. Definitely some room for more rubber. The second is the look I'm going for. |
Anyone know what wheels those are? They are used by Backdraft Racing.

Yes, that 2nd car is a beautiful look.
That wheel combo will look fantastic with your paint. Go for it. Gary |
That is a Backdraft car, Backdraft only uses 18" wheels; older styles were 17".
Either way Vintage Wheels will work through sizes and offsets with you. Can't go wrong there... |
I put Vintage Wheels on mine when I ditched the 15". I think I worked with Bob. Great guy to deal with! You car will look cherry with the new wheels.
