legendary cobra kit information
Hey guys, I came across an unfinished cobra kit that a guy is selling. I haven't seen it yet other than pictures but he told me in an email it was a Legendary cobra kit. I did a search and cant find anything under that name does anyone know any info about that brand , pros or cons, for me before I go and see it. he said its got a box frame, a 9" ford rear and missing some items, its 75% complete so my issue would be cobra items fitting should I get them from other companies. Im not worried about the mechanicals or the body just the trim pieces and how good the frame was manufactured etc.
thanks, Paul |
So... These things are almost always a can of worms.
If you love the putting things together aspect, running all over creation to find missing stuff, cutting and re-welding to make things fit, etc, go for it. Someone is abandoning it for a reason, and that reason is most like NOT that things went well (Occasionally "other issues" like divorce cause the project to be set aside, but mostly they sit on the shelf because the task is MUCH larger than the original owner anticipated.) In most cases, the best deal you can make is to haul it away from them for nothing and not charge for it. Anything between 0 and what they want is negotiable. Otherwise I'd bet even money that you'll never finish it either and in two years will be asking someone to take it off your hands. Hate to be brutal but that's just the way unfinished no-name Cobra kits work. If you want a car to drive, buy one that's already finished. |
thanks Tony
I dont know why he's selling it I actually think the guy Im talking to is selling it for the woman who listed it, so maybe a divorce or a death forced the sale? I'll have to get more information on it. I just wanted to find out if anyone ever heard of a legendary kit. |
