What color is this???

Does anyone have the paint-code for this blue? It is CSX #3125 and was a converted street car - back in the 60's. It was raced in the now blue/white and I really like the lighter blue and contrast. While I am at it - is there a paint-code for the white as well? Thanks in advance - guru's!

That looks too light to me to be Guardsman Blue, which was a standard 427 color from Shelby and is a common color on Cobras these days. Might be Viking Blue, another Shelby factory color. The PPG/Ditzler code for Viking is 12494.

SE,

I agree. I am not a fan of Guardsman but this is beautiful. Totally subjective here obviously...

BTW: Viking Blue DOES look promising - thank you!

It may be Wimbledon White.

It is Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White stripes. Standard FoMoCo colors from mid-60’s.

Well, if that is the case - I do like Guardsman Blue. Thank you.

It’s guardsman blue although the lighting to me does change the shade slightly. This car is/was located 3 miles from me and the owner has an amazing collection. The owner owns 2 real 427s. The pictures in the original post were from the Sotheby’s auction brochure so they are super high-end pics. That car was purchased as a street version and upgraded by Shelby American before leaving the the LA facility into a competition car that he could race.

Thank you for posting. I find it fascinating that #23 had the double hoop roll bar - very cool. My Comp Car has a very similar design - good company to be in...

A few questions E5USMC:

1] To clarify, the pictures above of the #23 car (#3125) and the Red car are both original Shelby's, and that is the actual #3125?

2] I, like most get confused by Guardsman & Viking Blue, thinking the Guardsman is darker than that shown by on #3125, so it may be due to the brightly lit garage where the pic was taken?

3] Do you know what color the red car is specifically?

Thank you!

Yes please. What color is that red ?
