Unique Cobra Seats - help
I have low back problems and I have heard adding a spacer helps, does anyone know the part number or product that will fit my unique seats?
Also, I know I’m going to have to get them reupholstered, any tips or tricks to keep the original look but make easier on my old back!?

Not sure just what you hope to accomplish but might assume that your plan is to tilt the seat back.
Not a Unique but in the past I've just used longer bolts and washers under the front mount to lift the mount off the floor. Maybe I'm making this too easy not knowing your exact installation.
Not sure on the upholstery issue but different padding is usually available at the shops doing the work.

I used shock grommets under my seat. I put one on each side in the front, it tilted it just enough and made a big difference.

I use a local guy to rebuild seats. Unique has bad seats. They are not designed for long trips. They look great. Ricky added lumbar support and denser foam in the bottom of the seat near the area where you knee almost touch the seat. It gives support to the leg just behind the knee. Most modern car have this support in their seats. We have to remember that Cobra seats were used in a race car in the sixties.
On one seat for a helicopter pilot with a bad back I had Ricky to change the seat material four times till Mike was happy with the way it sat.
He would combine 1/2" soft foam with 1" hard foam to get the feel Mike wanted.
I also tilted the seat back a little using square washer sold at the electrical - mechanical supply houses to raise the front of the seat. They are 1 5/8" square and a 1/4' thick with different hole size, 1/4", 3/8" etc. Lowes and Home Depot may sell them.

Agreed with RB60 - the trick with Unique's seats is to tilt them back a bit by raising the front using spacers. Makes a world of difference.

How many inches do you all lift the front using the spacers? 1” 2” ?

You will have to experiment.
Leave the rear bolts loose, insert a piece of 1" wood (anything the thickest you want) in the front. Sit in the seat to see how it feels. Add or remove shims. When you get the seat in the best position for you, install the square washers or what ever you choice and bolt it down.

Found those square washers with the hole in them, shimmed it up now waiting for daughter to wake up so I can get her off the ramps and try it out! Worked great!
