High Friction Product - Good for wheel grip????
Just seen this and wondered if it would help reduce torque acting on wheel drive pins if placed on face between wheel and hub.
Anyway will buy some as it looks like a great product for the workshop.
Anybody used it and got any thoughts or experience on its effectiveness?

This is an excerpt from a review. The reviews were all negative except this one.
It’s a viscous oil with some sort of metal chips inside.

The interface between wheels and hubs are designed to be full contact. I'd be very reluctant to use any substance that could interfere with that.

Valve lapping compound works well for stripped screw heads.

It should not slip unless the fastener is loose.

Keep this product for it's intended use only.
Any fastener in a driving scenario such as a wheel to hub face, or crankshaft to timing gear, is applying a clamping force.
The clamping force gives the friction drive.
A crankshaft keyway is quickly destroyed if the balancer bolt is loose, as example.

My question arises because my wheels are currently 5 pin drive and not six and I have upped engine power and torque significantly and worry a bit that 5 pins might not be adequate. I fully understand the need for adequate clamping etc but just wondered if their was a friction enhancing product that might act as a substitute for six pins.
Converting wheels to six pin is possible with a lot of effort as some casting/lightening holes in the back of the wheel will have to be welded shut and hubs re drilled so am looking for an alternative.
In the mean time will just monitor pin performance and health after each hard drive.

Good question - I don't know - just assumed they do as it seems the preferred choice is 6 pin.

Given the idea that the clamping force is the real factor in keeping the wheel attached perhaps the main task of the pins is to center the wheel properly.
