That used to be true. And in GA, minus the Atlanta metro area, that may still be true. But not in the Atlanta (Federal air regulation zone) area. So it matters which part of GA the seller is located. |

I think the adjusters are horizontal. If you look to the back side of the UCA, you can just see part of the slot. This is what CMC and StreetBeast used. |

Doesn't look like torsion bar suspension to me rather Mustang II complete with radius rods. I don't recognize anything else though.

I expect the easiest way to sell an un-assembled CMC / StreetBeast would be to play dumb and hope the buyer doesn't figure out what it is, until after the sale. Anyone who understands what they are would never pay money for one. I wouldn't take one if they paid me $10,000 on the condition I had to finish the car before I died.
Maybe that explains how many unfinished kits are out there with no documentation and the owner has no clue what it is. |
The hood scoop and rear cockpit area certainly do look like a CMC kit.

Agreed, but the front suspension is unlike any I have seen on a CMC/Street Beast kit before. Maybe something customer from the original owner?

Here’s my two cents
I think the front end is a Pinto-mustang suspension parts with a custom crossmember. Back in the early 80s I sold CMC inner panels that I used on the early hi-tech cobras and a body that came out of a copper state Cobra mold. We’re talking 35 years ago.
So my vote goes for a Modified CMC cobra. I might be mistaken but maybe not.

If it's Mustang II somebody has changed the UCA adjusting mechanism. OEM MII adjust via two vertical bolts in the bar that connects the pivot points of the UCA. That's not visible in the photo shown.
As pointed out by joyridin'. it looks like they're using U-shaped shims that are inserted between the pivot bar and the frame / chassis. Loosen the bolts, insert or remove a shim, tighten and check. That's the same basic mechanism to adjust caster and camber on my old 1956 Ford. |

Thanks, it was designed by a Taylor Race Engineering up in Austin for UCC. All I can tell you from my in house build, it’s heavy as ****!😀 |
I visited Classic Motor Carriages around 1990. A friend wanted to look at those Street Beasts. It was in a ghetto-like area of Miami in a huge warehouse. The cars they had on display were sure chintzy looking and that kept my friend from considering one but they called him and me every week for a year!
Two Cobras on display, one had a smallblock Chevy and the other a 302, both looked to be mid 70's smogger engines and both automatics. Mustang II front suspension with 4 lug 13" x 7" deep dish chrome "modular" wheels and the rear was a stock width 79-early 80's Fox body 7.5", also 4 lug. It had what appeared to 14 x 6" chrome modular wheels with a lot of backspacing to make them fit in the fender. Lug nuts stuck out further that the tire sidewall. It also had the stock Fox body rear suspension and the lower control arms sat about where the exit of the sidepipe was. Door handles looked like something from an old kitchen and were wood screwed into the fiberglass. One was already loose.
The body appeared to vary in thickness to over an inch in some places. Like a hot tub maker got into cars.

I just wanted to say thanks for all of the input. I'm going to look at a running/titled/1st owner but unfinished FFR this week with all the documentation. I'm confident you all saved me a TON of headaches and possibly a bunch of cash!
