Side Pipe Ground Clearance
I'm building a Contemporary Classic Cobra from 1996 and wanted to see how much ground clearance other cars have from the bottom of the side pipes to the ground at both the front and back. I currently have 4.5" for the oil pan but only 3 1/4" on the passenger side side pipes and 3.75" on the driver side at the front and 4" at the exhaust tip. Other clearances are 5 3/8" at underside of body at oil cooler. 3 1/2" at bottom of front control arm at the rear pivot point. Front of frame behind front wheel is 6", rear frame is 5" in front of rear tires. My garage floor isn't level, and I believe I may raise the rear some by tightening up the 4 rear coil over shocks.

That's too low. How much clearance do you have to the rocker area?

Try standing a 2x4 on edge - that's 3-1/2 inches. Run it under the car. (If you can find a way, drive over it - I built up a batch of 3 or 4. You need to be able to drive over it and not scrape anything.) That's the minimum height you need to clear *most* speed bumps. It's a little too low for some things.

side pipes
I have about 1.5" between the rocker and the side pipes.
Driver side is higer than passenger side. https://imgur.com/gallery/v4GvK2U |
