Prepping car for sale, opinions wanted ;

Prepping my Kirkham for sale and am trying to decide on which way to go on two items:
1. Installed new Cobrapack mufflers and time to coat them :
Silver or black . The old ones were black,as are the quick jacks and roll bar.
2. 4bbl or webers, if webers how much additional $ would you be willing to pay
for them ?
I have a small web site where you can see the car: TEDSCOBRA.COM

TIA for your input,
Ted

I like the black side pipes, especially as your quick jacks and roll bar are black.

There's no doubt the Webers have a huge cool factor. Rather than publicly display my ignorance I'll let others weigh in on the premium associated with them.

Ted,

My ERA had black pipes, quick jacks and roll bar. Having all the same looks nice.

Regarding the Webers, while they do have the cool factor, you might first want to explore whether it is even a possibility as there is a dearth of Weber intakes for a big block, and then there is the time setting them up and getting them properly tuned. It can take some time. It depends on how soon that you would like to get the car on the market. It might be quicker to stay with the carb and it is a huge investment to get a set of Webers and have them tuned. Not sure that you will get the full return of time and money.

Good luck with the sale.

The Webers will cost you more to install than they will add to the price of the car. Most buyers will not pay more for something they can do or get done themselves at a lower price point. You are just throwing money away.

The Webers may require more changes as well. Your current cam may not work, you will need to run lower fuel pressure and you will have to possibly increase your timing. If you were going to keep the car it would be one thing, that much change and sorting it all out prior to a sale is probably not a good idea.

I should have mentioned that I have the Webers and manifold. They were installed when the car was completed in 2013.
I bought them (used, but Italian ) from a CC member. Coincedently they had been painted red, and are a close match to the car.
They are shown on the car at the site TEDSCOBRA.COM.

You are on a path that is that of homeowners that trying to sell a house immediately remodel bathrooms and kitchens and then are surprised that it only got the amount that a good CMA (Comparative Market Analysis, the realtor version of an appraisal, which now is the same as most places use for their tax assessment). They got pennies on the dollar on those remodel jobs. Good thing to do when you first get a car or house, not so much after. The only things you should do do a car or house are deferred maintenance. It's a painted Kirkham (I will still assert a painted cobra will sell faster than an unpainted one) so the first thing to do is to get a good wax job (maybe it's a new paint job, in which case detail it before photos.) If your exhaust system is bunged up, get it fixed.

Advertise on www.cobracountry.com.

Even if you don't use Cobra Country download his "how to take pictures" tutorial and follow it. Don't use a cell phone (although I've seen some pretty good photos from newer phones, but my experience is that a DSLR still is better.) Bring A Trailer will send a pro and they seem to do a pretty good job.

Good luck.

Black to match the rest of the car.

In my opinion the Webers will not add to the value of the car when it comes time to sell.

What you may want to consider is what will you be doing with the carb system that is not installed. Which would potentially be worth more for sale afterwards? A lot to consider.....
