Road Force Balance & Alignment
Hey AZ Cobras .... need some advise.
I'm getting ready to replace my 17 year old  BF Goodrich T/A tires with Mickey Thompson S/T's. I need company to mount the new tires and "Road Force" balance them, I would bring the tires and wheels to them. Also need a shop that is familiar with Cobras to get the alignment done. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
Too far for you, but 'Wheel Enhancement' in Los Angeles did a great job on mine with a road force machine. They figured out one of my avons was bad, sasco sent me a replacement.
If you ever drive out here, I would take it there. That's how much I liked their work and service. -Dave |
You can google "Hunter road force balancer near me" and get a list of companies in your area that at least have that equipment, and narrow down from there. Alan or Maurice (Unique) will give you alignment specs, most shops can do the front end, nothing special in front. The camber adjustment on the rear jag suspension will take shims inboard of the half shafts. (Makes the half shaft upper link longer or shorter.) A shop familiar with jag rears will be the best choice for that.
Sorry for the long winded reply, if you already knew those details. |
Be sure to balance them at the pressure you usually run the tires at. Shops usually run them up to 32psi.

For balancing, try Discount tire stores. For alignment I use Gunnels tire and auto in Mesa. I know the tech and have explained exactly what I need.

Thanks
8Litercobra never checked the Jag rear but I want to get that done also. Got the specs. from Alan and I had the front end done after I finished the car in 2006. Alignment shop could not set the caster on the left side? Spoke to Alan and said to send him some pictures of the suspension with the tires off and he called back and said that upper control Arm was wrong, it was for the right side and you would never be able to get the correct caster adjustment. He sent the correct Arm I put it in and did "home" alignment by eye in my garage, not real accurate but it did the job. I will leave it to the professionals this time!! Hey Dan could you give me the tech's name at Gunnels? Thanks |
