Windshield compatability

Anyone have any idea if all cobra windshield glass and frames are the same? I have a CSX4000 with a cracked glass and I found a complete windshield with frame off a classic motor carriage replica for $650. It sounds like a decent price but I dont know if it will fit my car. Anyone know for sure?

Check the code on your windshield - probably bottom corner on the passenger side. You'll then need to have it checked for interchange compatibility with the one you're looking at. Different manufacturers have different codes, but any good glass shop can look up one code for compatibility with another manufacturer.

A CSX car likely has an "original" type windshield, but take a look at the "bug" in the windshield. For example, the windshield glass in my car bears the label “VELAS Laminated 43R-00003 [E17] AS-1 M6 DOT 73.” It is an OEM Cobra windshield frame made in England – the glass is manufactured in Finland by the company V.E. Lipponen Oy. If you need to replace the glass, it is not a terribly difficult job, but four hands are way better than two.

IMO four hands best so as not to spill the beer.

I bought my replacement from the guy at Shell Valley. He has a parts business too. He imports them. Shelby got them from him.

And some guys opt for this: Cobra Valley's PolyGlass Hi-Performance Optically Formed Windshields
