Nice video thanks. Chip has that vision of what can be done.

I hope she understands that the car will be the "main attraction" now...

I hope she understands that the next owner will have to be a woman too.

thanks
I enjoyed the video

I saw the video last night and needed some time to digest that.

Like a lot of things Chip Foose does, there are times I think he goes too far or makes changes for the sake of change. I really like what they did with the gas filler cap but, beyond that, I'm not a big fan of the changes. Yes, the Daytona Coupe rear end could use something more than 'beehive' lamps, but 1970 Camaro taillamps? Don't get me started on the colour of the block or the Foose-signature wheels and gauges.

BTW, I'm not a fan of the stripe, but I can accept that's the owner's preference. At least it's relatively easy to fix.

To me the best thing about Chip Foose is the amount of work he does himself. He certainly has no problem getting his hand dirty.

I've certainly liked some of Foose's works less than this one. The pink engine is a little much but the rest of the body looks pretty good.

Very impressive workmanship; I do, however, have to ask ...why customise a Daytona coupe?

The nose for me is a little confusing with a hint of Aston Martin to the shape of the nose opening, and the 'bumpers'. The bumpers 'shout' XKE !
Raising the hood sure would attract comments on the pink block.

Bottom line probably is: if we're talking about it here on a predominantly Cobra forum, it must be a success ;)

Cheers!
Glen

Workmanship is Tier 1.

But..........

A Daytona sounds and looks like a brawler and
you paint a flower pattern on it resembling
Scooby-Doo's Mystery Machine? That's like
having Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson wear a
Dora The Explorer T-shirt.

A year after the high of having Foose do your car,
she's going to get tired of looking at it.

My wife shook her head in disbelief. Her qualifications
include Cobras, Corvettes and a track Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
She is of the opinion that any woman who drives a Cobra Daytona
wants to be a bad girl not a flower child.

That said, it's just an opinion.

Money

When people have so much money that they don't know what to do with it, they pay to have something like this built. What do you think this thing costs to be built by Foose? 200k???

200K over and above the cost of the Cobra/Coupe.

There is a big difference in having a car built by Foose and a car being done on Overhaulin both in terms of the work and the cost. The owners of the cars on Overhaulin don't pay for them to be on there. The sponsors provide the parts and the crew does the labor.

CobraResurrect 05-14-2021 09:52 AM

To each his own but that is not for me. At the same time many Cobra roadster owners do the same thing with wheels, engine dress and even seats and dash.
