They are a dealer. That piece of s**t being pimped is likely neither of Shelby or AC origin. The ad states it's CA titled. Could it be titled as a "1967 Shelby Cobra" giving seller some sort of artistic license to pitch it as such? I'd give him $80K in Zimbabwe dollars. |
It isn’t an original anything. Just a kit. $35000 tops!

Quiet, LMH he might just think your offering that amount and take it
|
Looks like a LAE or B&B body and the rear end looks like a modified Ford Thunderbird IRS unit and the front end is Mustang II with tubular arms! It sure is a real deal! Something????
|
Tom,
Dont buy it as it not the real deal. Good thing its not a chevy motor or you may have already pulled the trigger.  |
Jeff, If it had a Chevy motor then it would be a "Real, Genuine" new AC Cars Cobra.
|
There was a thread not too long ago about how to answer when asked if your Cobra is real. It seemed the consensus was, and I have to agree, "Yup, it's real".
|
Everyone here knows it's a science fiction description. The problem is those that think it's a barn find and they'll get rich flipping it.
You can contact the seller who has no intention of fixing his fraudulent description but unfortunately eBay provides no way to contact them to cause it to be fixed. I guess if they did then every ad would be challenged since they are almost always exaggerated. |
It didn't sell but it's back up with the same fraudulent description for $10,000 less.

Sadly, other than speaking to the fraud in forums such as this, the fraudsters survive to continue their misrepresentations. Frequently the best teacher is the actual experience where the buyer experiences the deception personally — it tends to be more memorable. Ed |
Ed,
Delightful! Just ordered a copy and will likely enjoy it immensely. Thank you, Tom |
Hey Tommy, didn't the round taillights start in late 67 and the amber turn signals in 66? Seems this boy has his dates confused.... The Cleveland motor, if it is a race motor, may be worth something approaching $5K, but beyond that, I don't see any AC or Autocraft ID, I don't see any SA id, and I don't seen any jag differential,,, matter of fact.. Did Shelby ever build a car with square tube frame? Maybe I've been wrong all this time but I don't think so.. anyway, it may be worthy $33K to 35K maybe up to forty if the paint is really nice.

Reading Tusser is a drudgerie unless you're fluent in Old English! The quote above is, in the original: Quote:
Anyway, thanks for the mental exercise! For those who'd like a sample, the Gutenberg site has a copy you can read or download for free here: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/51764/51764-0.txt Tom |
My mother used to say, "buy in haste, Repent in leisure!" Hate to say how many times I made that mistake!

He keeps relisting it. Now down to $59,995.
