Superformance oilpan
Anyone R&R a 351w kick out canton type pan with the motor in the car? Without leaks?
|
Might need to remove one or both engine mounts, mount dependent.
I built stud guides by cutting the heads off of 2" or longer bolts for the 4 corners. Made alignment easy and then installed a few of the smaller side bolts to secure it into location. Yup, went together w/o leaks. Jim |

Used Permatex Ultra Black on the gasket surfaces. No leaks. Permatex Ultra Black instructions: https://static.summitracing.com/glob.../ptx-82180.pdf Canton pan? Check out the comments here about one-piece vs 4-piece gasket sets: https://www.ffcars.com/threads/one-p...25/post-867331 |
Thanks Brian!
Thanks for the great response with a link to the how to...

The reinforcing rails should only be used on oil pans with a flat gasket sealing surface, many pans have a contoured sealing surface to better hold the rubberized cork gasket.

You sure your leak is not the rear seal?
