Finally took delivery of my Cobra from UCC on Saturday, the car turned out great. Albeit the 10 day build took nearly 2 years LOL, it’s all good standard procedure on these builds. Now to register it and break in the motor!

Congratulations car looks great! Enjoy breaking it in and getting to know the car. I like the black over rider & roll bar look.

Pretty standard fare, Smeding 427 , TKO 600, Moser 9” Ford , 4 link with panhard bar and adj coil overs, speedhut gauges……and cup holders!
I’ll post better pics in the next few weeks. Need to change out the oil pan to a proper road race pan.

^^^that’s an awesome looking pan! Reminds me of the old Ed Hamburger pans we used back in the day.

Alfa02 02-10-2022 02:27 AM

Weird guys, is this same Ed Hamburger that built & drag raced Factory Mopar's back in the 60-70's? If so a club member in Colo. just brought an Ed Hamburger 70's Dodge Dart Pro-stock car (Restored) out of Id. A month ago, I'd never even heard of the guy ;) Cheers TommyRot.

RUFdriver 02-10-2022 06:42 AM

Same guy. His oil pans were a big deal back in the 80s, one of the other companies eventually bought him out.

I hope you bring it to the Texas Cobra Club Spring Meet at the end of March so we can see it.

As I understand it, Armando worked for Aviaid before striking out on his own. He's in El Paso, TX.

FWIW, he built my pan for an 'off the shelf' price, and it included the crank scraper and pickup. I needed to replace my pump and get gaskets and the special main cap bolt to support the pickup but, other than that, it was all included. I will note I later added a set of reinforcing rails and switched the bolts to studs with flange nuts. Highly recommended, BTW.
