Looking for a cobra under $30,000

Perhaps someone has purchased a cobra kit and is unable to compete the build or perhaps someone has one that needs to be refurbished, paint, body work etc. I live in NJ.

You might try reaching out to the user Cobrask8 on saacforum. That is Dan. He is in charge of the Lehigh Valley SAAC region. Last fall I was helping Dan with his car with one of his friends from New Jersey. That friend was thinking of selling his FFR Daytona. It sounded like he was willing to sell it for well under $30K at the time. Maybe it is still available.

Log on to the FFR forum and post your request. Might just find a guy that has a partially built kit for sale.

Hello,
I purchased a Factory Five Mk2 partially built kit from the estate of
a deceased gentleman. The kit is about 75% done. I was told that it was a running driving chassis. It has a 5.0 liter engine and 4 spd trans. All of the
running gear is completely installed and looks to be well done. The hard work has been done. Some of the final assembly still needs to be done. The body needs to be prepped and painted. I am only selling It only because I am building a Shell Valley 427. If you bought this FF5 kit you would easily be in a completely built car for $15 to $20K. My price for the car is $13,900 cash. I
have the original assembly manual and a new current assembly manual. There may be a few small parts that you may have to purchase from Factory Five. I Live in western North Carolina.
Feel free to contact me Thank You, Bill Locklair

FB Marketplace shows a number near Chicago ranging from $20k-$33k. All complete cars. Just better figure on a bunch of time and money to make it right.

Yep. In the Cobra space it is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for". I'm willing to bet you'll be severely disappointed in a 20K finished Cobra, when it's not difficult to pay that much for just the power train.

The Indiana and Ohio Cobra clubs are selling a used B&B Cobra with all the proceeds going to charity. While I don't think $30 will buy it, you might look into it, if there is any wiggle room in the $30K limit. It's complete and ready to drive. Ohio Cobra Club's website has the details. Or, go to Motorvault.com.

I purchased a West Coast Cobra for USD $25K in 2014. Cosmetically it was decent, but mechanically it was a fixer-upper. I haven't tallied all the invoices for what I've put into it since then, but I have no doubt it's over USD $10K (perhaps WELL OVER) - and that doesn't include anything for my labour. Last appraisal was for CAD $62K, so about USD $45-50K.

Caveat emptor.
