Adding a computer file photo to a post by editing?

When Photobucket and I parted ways the photos in my build thread for ERA 782 went away. I've seen been keeping photos on a separate hard drive and gave up on photo services. I've had a couple inquiries about re-inserting the photos in my build thread which I've been considering lately. However, under the edit function for a post, the paper clip for attaching file photos is not available (at least that I see).

Is there a way to post a photo in a post edit screen from a computer file?

Well heck - I think I just found my answer by clicking Go Advanced on the edit screen of my post.

Never mind.%/

And then maybe not - doesn't seem to want to play with my computer files.

You first have to upload your pics to somewhere on the internet. Whether that's the ClubCobra picture gallery or one of the other free image upload services somewhere (that admittedly come and go) is up to you. Then you edit your original post that was pointing to PhotoBucket to the new location of the photo. You do that manually as if you were correcting a misspelling of a word. You can not simply embed a photo directly from your hard drive at home to a post on ClubCobra and have it visible from outside CC, or via a direct link in your browser to that pic, the photo must be stored at a location that can be hit via a pointer, or "image link," to it.

This is a pic off my desktop that I loaded to this post using the paper clip icon;

This sentence is to test if I can place text after the pic — seems to work OK

Right, your image link comes out as:

h$$p://www.clubcobra.com/forums/attachments/all-cobra-talk/38224d1666542921-adding-computer-file-photo-post-editing-img_2113.jpg

Note that I have swapped in dollar signs on the http tag so that you can see it. If you put that link on another site it won't appear properly, nor can you just plug it in to your browser and see it, like you can with this: (remember to remove the dollar signs).

I can attach from my IPad photos but all my build thread photos are on a hard drive and copying those over twice to get them back in my old thread probably won’t happen.

Thanks
