Another Jay Leno Accident - Motorcycle
|
I'm afraid it appears that he and Harrison Ford are in some competition?
|
|
He's as accident prone as Jack Rousch in an airplane.
|
Leno is an incredibly likable guy but his
risk assessment ability is sadly lacking. The mishaps we hear about are just the ones that MSM gets ahold of. In a few interviews he has let slip that these are not isolated incidents. If this keeps up, people will start selling T-shirts that say: "I survived meeting Jay Leno". If I ever fly the jet that both Leno and Harrison Ford are on I'm calling in sick." |
His Jay Leno's Garage show has also been canceled.
|
getting old

Second incident involving leaking fuel. With 180+ cars and bikes, I wonder how many are sitting unused and when he pulls one out to drive it, bad things happen. He was cutting across a private parking lot once his bike started leaking fuel and was clothes-lined by a wire the owner had strung across the lot.

Watching Barrett-Jackson today.
Jay comes on selling Leno's Garage Car Care Products and he talks about how he wrapped his car around a tree. |
Leno should invite Josh from moonshiners on his(cancelled?) garage show. They could brag who has had more accidents, ha

What is wrong with you guys ! Jay leno is one who I aspire to be like. He is a true car guy and more. I feel bad for him. We all here should be wishing him a speedy recovery and keep it up! Trust me I have been in his shoes and it ani"t no fun being injured. The last thing you need is a bunch of negative people talking about you. get well soon Jay!

He has a live show scheduled in Vegas at the end of March that is so far still on. It was almost sold out before his latest incident.

I agree with Hauss, who of us haven't had incidents (Accidents) working around cars ;) Let along working with 1910-20's Cars & Bikes, I would imagine the injury's working on them back when they were new were even more serious. I can recount 3-incidents I had, that still leaves scars (Physically and/or Mentally ;)) 1-never, try to remove a 96Mustang power seat by yourself if you're 5'6" and weigh 145lbs, you'll get a Herina. 2-never, put a "Wet" rain tire up on a tire rack that's above your shoulders, it could slip & crack your stermum (Those never heal) 3-never, try to wind up a power window spring on a 68 Cougar, without reading how to do that job, that cost me a cut all the way though my Tendon, still can't bend my finger like before. What the saying something like "Never throw Stones" something, something.... Give Ol'Jay a break he's old like US :) Cheers Tom.

I don't think it's picking, it's all in good fun. I suspect that Jay would likely laugh along with us. Sort of like his BBQ joke after he burned himself. You gotta keep a sense of humor.

Thats is true he is a great car guy, has saved a lot of cars

I do fill for Jay! On the bright side, I have not had a motorcycle accident in at least 35 years, and it was minor. I have had several car accidents, none my fault, but still sucks! Plus, one airplane crash, I was not the pilot, I was siting in the back, when the taildragger locked the right brake, my friend almost saved it, but it still went up on it's nose, still, glad he was flying, not sure I would have been so lucky. Had lots of other bad luck, latest cataracts, you would know, I turn 65 later this year, but I can't go on like this. Insurance covers most, but I have a $5,000 deductible! My friends think I am cursed, last year, they decided, I was cursed by a Voodoo Priests! I assured them, I am not stupid enough to make a Voodoo Priests mad! So the latest theory is, in a former life I murdered a Hobo! I can't prove or disprove this theory, so it must be true! Cheers, Dennis

I like Jay's public persona and I've never met him to know the real person. I'm 75 and I've also had my share of injuries associated with aging. Some were due to declining muscle strength and dexterity, and others due to declining short term memory. From those incidents I've learned to not do things exactly like I used to. I can't rely on my brain and body to save me the way they used to. So my comment "A man's got to know his limitations" was intended as advice rather than criticism. I'd like to see Jay sharing his car hobby for a lot longer, but he may have accept the inevitable effects of aging and change some of how he does it.

Godspeed Jay, get well soon. |
It was a private driveway, so no he is not. Just bad luck, that Jay just happened to pick that one to have problems with his Indian! Cheers, Dennis
