A Little Ditty
For any of you Mark Knopfler/Dire Straights fans out there, I just picked up an old album by Mark, 'Get Lucky', from 2009. Listening to the disc in my truck, I heard this song 'The Car Was The One'. Great little song is a tribute to the late Mark Donohue and his trip to the racetrack in '63. Ultimately his desire to race was upstaged by his desire for the star's Cobra. If you've never heard it before you can find it on Youtube. Definitely worth a listen...

Last night I grabbed my copy of Mark Donohue's 'The Unfair Advantage' off the bookshelf, as I hadn't read it in several years. I looked in the index and found Bobby Brown. Chapter six details exactly what the song is about, and it happened at Lime Rock in 1963. Mark Knopfler was paying attention...
