Carol Shelby tool boxes ?

A good friend of mine passed away recently - he was a life long Shelby / Mustang fan. He has brand new Carol Shelby signed tool chest/cabinets and such - one has never been unwrapped.
Two Shelby bicycles new - one in the box - Shelby intakes, T-shaped oil pan (Buddy Barr) - new in the box toys and collectables.

I will try and post some pictures this week end- I have to go to his garrage - still doing inventory !

There was a guy that used to sell that kind of stuff but my memory cells are getting uncorrectable ECC errors and search didn't click.

No name yet but I do recall he sold the stuff in big batches on eBay. Reality is that most of the stuff didn't get too much money, sometimes only a dollar or two plus shipping.

Edit: I just re-read a little closer. The reference to a bicycle made me rethink. Is the toolbox a vintage 60's tool set? If so it has some value. If it is just a Shelby badged Sears or Snap-On tool floor stand red tool box it's not of much value, at least to this audience. This material was all licensed by Shelby to use his name starting in after the 2007 GT500. It's interesting, but of late hasn't had a lot of resale value.

We'd need more info on the age of the stuff before being able to assist. But like I said, lots of 60's era stuff that the other guy sold on ebay barely broke even...

Thanks - the thing of it is we just want the items to be sold for a fair price and help the widow move on. We are grateful for the help we have recieved so far and look forward to helping her move forward.
We realize, to people with this type car parts - there's those who have and those who want to.
Thanks again -

Can you post any photos of the tool box? I’ve not heard of a Shelby tool box! Sounds cool!

Yes. Vernon. Maybe the op could wholesale the lot to him and let Vernon do the marketing and sales. He's pretty good at it and knows prices he gets

Alfa02 09-07-2023 10:39 AM

Yes, thanks to Bill, I've been in contact with Vernon, he has the gentleman's contact # now. Vern has a great memory he remembers our conversation 4-5 years ago about a LeMans metal wrist bracelet (Pit Pass) worn by Al Dowd (Shelby Race Director) for the 1966 winning teams.
