Shelby oil temperature gauge #200945

Hi guys,
I actually have a problem with my manual Shelby oil temperature gauge : when engine is off and cold, normally the white needle sits on top of the left lower small post on „0“ degree postion. When engine gets warm the needle starts up from that point clockwise.
On my gauge it seems that the needle turned over clockwise and sits on 6 o clock position when engine is cold. When temperature rises the needle starts from that point clockwise and becomes stopped by the small post ….
Any idea I can fix that problem ?
Best, Stephan

Hi Stephan,
It sounds like your needle has become loose on its spindle and 'fallen over' to the 6 o'clock position.
It's probably fixable, but the best option (and possibly cheaper, depending who you go to) might be to just replace the gauge.
You could try contacting Caerbont in Wales. They are the Smiths manufacturers, and are very easy to deal with.

Cheers!
Glen

Nisonger Gauge Might be worth a call although it seems that they are no longer taking repair work. They worked on a Smiths gauge for me years ago.
