Builder VIN Question

Is anyone familiar with a builder that has a VIN starting with CPX? The car has knock-offs and a Jag rear but the dealer has no idea who the replica builder is. Older car. Any ideas?

Could be anyone with a set of stamps, no kit car manufacturer that I know of since 1981 has used a "CPX" for the start of their VIN's.

Round tube frame, square tube frame, 90" wheelbase?

We can then go from there.

Discussed this car with Peter P at ERA and Peter Bayer. Neither could ID it. Bayer said some short-term Midwest companies did knock-offs of Contemporary cars, he thought most likely that's what this car is. Has a lot of CC features, including their front end setup, jag rear, knock-offs and smiths gauges...but in other ways a mess. Not worth pursuing. Thnx.
