Insurance
What are folks using for insurance on cars that are not titled as a classic? I. E. less than 25 years old.

Insurance coverage for one of these cars is not all inclusive, nor will one persons company cover someone else. A lot will have to do with your driving experience, your age, your ticket/accident history, marriage status, whether you rent or own your own domicile, and roughly 30-40 other factors an insurance company underwriter will be looking for. It will not matter what other high performance cars you may have owned in the past, as a Cobra, real or replica, is like nothing else you have ever driven. With that said, your best bet will be to speak with your current insurance company, and see if they are willing to underwrite a policy for a specialty vehicle such as a cobra replica. Again, depending on your track record with them, they may, or may not do so. Finally, welcome to the madness. Bill S. |
This should help you greatly.

Great advice here from Matt.
Robbin is a wealth of knowledge and very helpful. But auto insurance varies by location. Sometimes significantly. Even from state to state within the US. Location is unclear from the OP, but if your state has unique requirements like mine here in Vermont, you might also consider trying one of the big national agencies like State Farm which offers a policy on a Cobra at an "agreed / guaranteed value." |
Another vote for Robbin and American Modern.
Be very cautious of using regular car insurance. If something happens what value will they put on your car? With American Modern, Grundy and other collector policies they agree on the value up front. John |
I have agreed value with State Farm.
