Cobra Performance Figures As part of my retirement I am teaching myself to program. A current project is to create a Drag App using weight and crank horsepower for street tuned Cobras with street tyres (non drag race tyres). I am interested to hear what your Cobra's performance is on the 1/4 mile and 0-60 with weight and crank HP so please publish here. One interesting thing from my research is it seems like the fastest a Cobra can do 0-60 in is around 3.1 seconds irrespective of any HP above 400. 1/4 mile time is different of course where 600 hp will give 1/4 mile times in the low 10's. Waiting to hear from you. It will help to tweak my formulas to make them more "Real World" |

Snake, How do you factor performance for powertrain parasitic losses? Additionally, how are you compensating for changes in different instant center locations on IRS and stick axle iplementations or same axle style to same axle style. Another interesting metric would be how you implemented the calculus for the effect of the anti squat line vs the instant center location? |

Èmail this guy and ask if his 0 - 60 time is better than 3.1 seconds https://youtube.com/shorts/nwY1KI94F...f4qzEFWiNMwJvb |

The one I used gave a pretty close approximation to the performance of my own car at 13.5 sec with around 270 hp when I ran it some 25 years back(Original motor a 350 Chevy with OEM CI heads, small valves and mild cam and TH400 box) . I just want a few more data points to calibrate it. |

One thing I know is, you can't trust the original times in the magazines! When Motor magazine in England, finally got a hold of a MKIII Cobra in 1967, a car prepared by John Woolfe putting out 500hp, they got almost the exact same time to speed readings as Road & Track got five years earlier with CSX2000, the prototype Cobra with a 260! 0-40 2.6, 60, 4.2, and 80, 6.8. Cheers, Dennis |

Snake 2998, I found and old post with in-depth member performance criteria compiled on a list. This could provide some real world data points to help develop your program. The list notes stats plus HP and tire selection. Most of the Top 20 were on drag radials, but a few on street tires achieved impressive results. Probably safe to say all were on a prepped surface. Here: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/all-...-1-4-mile.html Also, Wallace Racing has a 0-60mph calculator based on known 660' time and speed here: Wallace Racing -Calculate how fast your car goes 0 - 60 mph If the Wallace Racing routine is anywhere near accurate, it would suggest that 660' times under 7.5 seconds translates to a 0-60mph time under 3 seconds. I don't know, you be the judge. |

Thanks Unique - great info but tracbite if used might skew the times. |
