Heater core for Classic Roadsters?
I have a fairly obscure question and am hoping someone out there knows the answer.
What donor heater core did Classic Roadsters use for the heaters provided with the kit? After 30 years of providing great heat on cold days, the heater core in my Cobra decided to rupture and puke anti-freeze all over the carpet. The heater unit that CRL provided with the kit was a collection of parts that the kit builder needed to put together. I looked in the CRL manuals, and they provide information about donor vehicles and part #s for most everything but not the heater core. There are no clues on the heater core itself like a part #. A related question, how best to clean up the carpet from a soaking of anti-freeze? The heater core pretty much failed in a couple of miles of driving so it wasn't just a few drops but a complete soaking of anti-freeze. I tried soaking the anti-freeze out with about a gallon of water but after several days of drying out, I still get a slick anti-freeze feel on my fingers when I rub them on the carpet. Does off the shelf auto carpet cleaner/shampoo work on anti-freeze? Or is there something that works better? |
